The season will start with a revival of <strong>The Canada Boys<\/strong> in the Spring, continue with a double-bill of <strong>Henhouse<\/strong> and <strong>Dulcie &amp; Walter<\/strong> in the Summer and culminate with the premiere tour of Rob John\u2019s new play <strong>Rosa Mendoza<\/strong> in the Autumn.<\/p>[\/vc_column_text]<\/div><div class='xtd-timeline__item' data-title='2020 - Covid'>[vc_single_image image=&#8221;1232&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; alignment=&#8221;right&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1612196474154{margin-left: 120px !important;}&#8221;][vc_column_text]<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: right;\"><span class=\"s1\">The pandemic has had a devastating effect on the performing arts. Here at fEAST we were one rehearsal away from the opening of the first of our tenth anniversary tours when the theatres closed in March 2020. We have spent the intervening months rescheduling (and re-rescheduling) the planned season so that, as soon as it is safe to do so, we can get our three shows on the road, better than ever!\u00a0 We have also spent the dark time planning for future seasons, collaborations and projects- of which, more news soon.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: right;\"><span class=\"s1\">We did, however, manage to create new work in 2020 during the brief times when it was thought safe to assemble audiences: Signal Fires and Merrily On High.<\/span><\/p>[\/vc_column_text]<\/div><div class='xtd-timeline__item' data-title='2020 - Signal Fires, Stories From the East'>[vc_single_image image=&#8221;987&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; alignment=&#8221;right&#8221;][vc_column_text]<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span class=\"s1\">In October and November 2020 fEAST joined with the UK\u2019s leading touring theatre companies including Headlong, High Tide, Kneehigh and Paines Plough to take part in the Signal Fires Project to celebrate the vibrancy of touring theatre, and highlight the threat our industry continues to face. In <strong>Stories From the East<\/strong> we performed a firelit selection of storytelling, songs and snippets from past fEAST shows in a socially-distanced, Covid-safe outdoor performance at Wells Maltings.<\/span><\/p>[\/vc_column_text]<\/div><div class='xtd-timeline__item' data-title='2020 - Merrily On High'>[vc_single_image image=&#8221;1023&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; alignment=&#8221;right&#8221;][vc_column_text]<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: right;\"><span class=\"s1\">We were delighted to return to Wells Maltings in December with a trio of specially commissioned monologues, Merrily On High. These were O Come Let Us Adore Him, written and directed by Rob John and performed by Dawn Finnerty, Comfort and Joy, written by Robin McLoughlin, directed by Dawn Finnerty and performed by Owen Evans and The Triumph of the Skies, written and directed by Rob John and performed by Sam Thompson. These funny, thought-provoking and poignant stories with a dash of the macabre, brought some much-needed light and warmth to Christmas 2020.<\/span><\/p>[\/vc_column_text]<\/div><div class='xtd-timeline__item' data-title=''>[vc_column_text]<h3><strong>10th Anniversary Season<\/strong><\/h3><p>\u00a0[\/vc_column_text]<\/div><div class='xtd-timeline__item' data-title='Spring 2021 - Signal Fires'>[vc_single_image image=&#8221;1597&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;right&#8221;][vc_column_text]Due to our Signal Fires show being postponed due to covid in 2020, Wells Maltings recommissioned the show to launch its reopening on May 28<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0and 29<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0May 2021. In this socially distanced, outdoor show, 6 actors from fEAST performed songs and scenes from several of our best known shows and offered a glimpse of new yet-to-be-performed work.[\/vc_column_text]<\/div><div class='xtd-timeline__item' data-title='Summer 2021 - Dulcie and Walter'>[vc_single_image image=&#8221;1599&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;right&#8221;][vc_column_text]<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Our delayed 10<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0anniversary season kicked off with a brand-new play by Catherine Herman (Bowles), a London-based actor and writer who was born in Norfolk.<\/p><p class=\"x_MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The play was one of the first to tour since restrictions eased, playing to theatres in Norfolk and Suffolk. Barbara Horne shared the role of Dulcie with Catherine.<\/p>[\/vc_column_text]<\/div><div class='xtd-timeline__item' data-title='Autumn 2021 - Rosa Mendoza'>[vc_single_image image=&#8221;1602&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;right&#8221;][vc_column_text]<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: right;\">The second tour to hit the road was Rob John\u2019s new play Rosa Mendoza. It explored the experience of an EU citizen working in the Cromer holiday industry in Brexit Britain. This play toured Norfolk and Suffolk in the Autumn of 2021.<\/p>[\/vc_column_text]<\/div><div class='xtd-timeline__item' data-title='Christmas 2021 - Hansel and Gretel'>[vc_single_image image=&#8221;1604&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;right&#8221;][vc_column_text]<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: left;\">We were thrilled to work on another brilliant Christmas show by Nick Lane \u2013 Hansel and Gretel and produced in collaboration with Well Maltings. The show featured songs and puppetry with a distinctive Norfolk twist on the classic tale. Sadly, the show had to close after 4 performances due to covid contact but will back again for Christmas 2022!!<\/p>[\/vc_column_text]<\/div><div class='xtd-timeline__item' data-title='Spring 2022 - Canada Boys'>[vc_single_image image=&#8221;1606&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;right&#8221;][vc_column_text]<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: right;\">Completing the 10<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0anniversary season, was a revival of The Canada Boys which we toured in 2022 as well as making an audio version available online. The tour was a success and noted as &#8216; one of the truly great Norfolk plays&#8230;A triumph of concentration and dedication&#8217;<\/p>[\/vc_column_text]<\/div><div class='xtd-timeline__item' data-title='Summer 2022 - Norfolk Arts Awards'>[vc_single_image image=&#8221;1987&#8243; img_size=&#8221;medium&#8221;][vc_column_text]<div>fEAST&#8217;s 10th Anniversary Season was\u00a0 Nominated for The Dick Condon Theatre 2022 by Norfolk Arts Awards<\/div>[\/vc_column_text]<\/div><div class='xtd-timeline__item' data-title='Christmas 2022 - Hansel and Gretel'>[vc_single_image image=&#8221;1994&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;right&#8221;][vc_column_text]<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: right;\">Nick Lane&#8217;s very zany take on Hansel and Gretel returned to Wells Maltings for a hugely successful run.<\/p>[\/vc_column_text]<\/div><div class='xtd-timeline__item' data-title='Summer 2023 - Research and Development Elephant'>[vc_single_image image=&#8221;1996&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][vc_column_text]fEAST were awarded a bursary development fund from The Seagull Theatre. A two week project to explore the staging and special effects for Jeremy Page&#8217;s new play Elephant.[\/vc_column_text]<\/div><div class='xtd-timeline__item' data-title='Christmas 2023 - Red Riding Hood'>[vc_single_image image=&#8221;1970&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;right&#8221;][vc_column_text]<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: right;\">fEAST joined forces with Wells Maltings for their 5th joint Christmas production, with another of Nick Lane&#8217;s inventive adaptation of a classic tale.<\/p>[\/vc_column_text]<\/div><div class='xtd-timeline__item' data-title='Spring 2024 - The Hollyhock Trilogy'>[vc_single_image image=&#8221;2002&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][vc_column_text]Co-founder Rob John created\u00a0three separate but connected journeys in The Hollyhock Trilogy. A show about people in love, about story-telling ; the magic of sitting down in a darkened room and listening to a story.\u2019 The show toured Norfolk in February and March to rave reviews.[\/vc_column_text]<\/div><div class='xtd-timeline__item' data-title='Summer 2024 - Elephant'>[vc_single_image image=&#8221;2004&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;right&#8221;][vc_column_text]<div style=\"text-align: right;\">After several applications, fEAST were finally award ACE funding for a tour of Norfolk and Suffolk with &#8216;Elephant&#8217; by Jeremy Page.
