Working with directors and actors and led by highly experienced teachers the company runs workshops in schools and colleges which enable students to explore text, character, staging and acting with reference to a \u2018live\u2019 touring production. Workshops have included activities specifically aimed students on GCSE, A Level and BTEC drama and performing Arts courses.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/3″ css=”.vc_custom_1551816794969{margin-right: 10px !important;border-right-width: 20px !important;padding-right: 20px !important;}”][vc_column_text]\n

fEast commissions new writing aimed at engaging younger audiences. We are determined to lower the age profile of our audiences and as well as performing in schools and colleges we offer reduced price tickets under 18 year olds at all our performances.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/3″][vc_column_text]\n

The company offers mentoring programmes for young actors who are beginning their careers. The performance was mesmerising to the degree that most students chose to use it for their ‘live evaluation’ response question in the June examination. They were helped further in this by the excellent workshops run by Dawn Finnerty (Director) and Katie-anna Whiting (actor), where contextual and thematic ideas, directorial decisions and character choices were\u00a0 explored in practical, engaging and illuminating ways. The students were on their feet exploring what they’d seen and heard and coming to a greater understanding of how this had been achieved, by doing it for themselves. Highly enjoyable and educational and a major contribution to our remarkable results last year.<\/span><\/p>\n

What a wonderful play so funny yet so moving. My students loved it. As we intend to use the play for the \u2018live evaluation\u2019 section of the drama exam in May, Rob John the director brought the cast into school the next day and provided two one hour workshops. This proved so helpful to the students as he had chosen four pivotal moments from the play which he then broke down for them and guided their analysis and evaluation of those moments. Fantastic \u2013 32 marks in the bag!!<\/span><\/p>\n
